An Emerging Missions Movement in Asia

ChinaSource is pleased to have the opportunity to partner with Asia Congress, an initiative of Lausanne Movement—East Asia, that seeks to “see a church and missions movement emerge” from a “unique Asian context.” Over the past few years they have, in collaboration with Asia Evangelical Alliance and Asia Theological Association and others, sponsored a number of key events, including Asia Congress 2021 and Asia Congress 2022 (both virtual).

A video of highlights from the gathering in 2022 can be found here:

Since the beginning of the year, we have been working with Asia Congress to produce a weekly news update called Asia Briefs. Modeled on our own ZGBriefs, this is the place for readers to catch up on news items and analysis from around Asia by providing a curated list of links from published online sources. Stories from China are taken from ZGBriefs. You can read Asia Briefs on the website or subscribe to receive it each week by email.

From July 25 to 29, Asia Congress will be hosting an event in Bangkok, Thailand called Arise Asia, whose purpose is “to inspire the next generation to take the gospel throughout Asia and to the world.” Think of it as an Asian Urbana conference. For more information on the program and speakers, please visit the website, linked above. You can also watch a video highlighting speakers and topics for the conference.

ChinaSource has been invited as an observer, and I am thrilled that I will be able to attend. After four years away, it will be good to be back in Asia. I look forward to hearing firsthand what God is doing among his people in Asia and to discerning ways that we can be more deeply involved in mobilizing and serving the next generation of gospel workers from Asia.

Here’s a short video with suggestions on how to pray:

Will you join us and the team at Arise Asia in praying for this event?
