As 2018 began, we used Habakkuk 1: 5 as an encouragement to prayer in the coming year. In light of the events and challenges of 2020, it’s appropriate to revisit the words of the prophet Habakkuk, this time his concluding words.
Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. Habakkuk 3:17–19a
God continues to do utterly amazing things among the nations including China. But, as in Habakkuk’s time, those things are not always easy. Yet we continue to pray and rejoice in the Lord. Join us as we take joy in the God of our salvation in this new year.
Happy New Year from the ChinaSource Team.
