平安夜, Silent Night!

Earlier this month we published the 2020 winter issue of the ChinaSource Quarterly which focused on Chinese diaspora ministry in the United States. Two articles were about the Chinese American community in the Chicago area.

In Chinese Christians of Chicagoland: The Experience of One American City—Chicago, Dr. Sam George provides a summary of a multi-year research project on Chinese churches in Chicagoland. The project, commissioned by the United Chinese Churches of Chicago (UCCC), an association of pastors and leaders in the area, sought to “discern ministry trends of this diasporic faith community and to assess issues facing Chinese churches as well as to explore ministry opportunities.” The second article is an interview with Rev. Yoman Man, Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Chinese Church in Oak Park.

As Christmas week approaches we’d like to share this video of the Chicago Chinese Christian Chorale singing Silent Night.

May you and your family experience the peace that comes with “the dawn of redeeming grace” in this Christmas season.
