Title: Fund Development Manager – Part-time Contract

Summary
ChinaSource is a small non-profit ministry with a big mission. For more than twenty years, it has been a trusted platform facilitating the flow of critical knowledge and leading-edge research among the Christian communities inside China and around the world and engaging them in collaborating to serve the Chinese church and society. We are seeking a committed Christian who is highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our team as a Part-time Fund Development Manager.
As a Fund Development Manager, you will have an opportunity to make a significant impact by cultivating lasting relationships with a spectrum of donors with the strategic goal of deepening their connection to the ministry while also encouraging their stewardship and giving. This also means managing and growing a portfolio of major gift partners through regular contact and face-to-face visits. This position will also act as campaign manager for fund development campaigns and will be required to support the President to lead, delegate, and manage resources to successfully achieve campaign goals.
This is a flexible part-time role that allows you to contribute to this meaningful cause while balancing your professional and personal commitments.
This role reports to the President.
Responsibilities
Donor Relations and Reporting
- Ensure donors are thanked in a personal and timely way after receiving their gift, usually by a phone call or email
- Act on behalf of the donor to make sure that their gift is restricted to the area of ministry they designate
- Take the lead on creating fundraising content
- Responsible for mailing appeal content via physical mailings and arranging Mailchimp campaigns
- Take the lead on producing the annual report which includes creating article alignment, submitting complete content to the graphic designer, checking and approving proofs, and arranging printing.
Fund Development Campaigns and Projects
- Directs campaign marketing and the cultivation and solicitation of prospects at all levels
- Operates systems for managing the prospect and planning data
- Oversees design and preparation of materials, events, and recognition programs
- Prepares campaign reports and evaluations
- Track campaign income in both SalesForce and on Windshield (proprietary campaign management software)
- Lead campaign steering committee meetings and coordinate the executive campaign committee operations
- Coordinate prayer team operations
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in related field; we will prioritize relevant experience over education
- At least two years of work experience in development and fundraising with experience in major gifts and developing long term partners
- Strong attention to detail, especially when working with donor prospects and follow-up
- Proven record in raising funds and strengthening relationships with key partners
- Basic understanding of planned giving vehicles and their use in soliciting major gifts
- Strong project management and leadership skills, particularly for executing campaigns
- Able to evaluate and create metrics for new and ongoing projects
- Clear communicator and strong interpersonal skills, able to express intentions and plans in a concise and collaborative manner
- Can think conceptually, creatively, and critically to plan and achieve goals
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to be able to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
- Able to travel to meet donors or manage donor focused events
- Fluent in English
- Able to navigate and cross train between different systems and platforms, such as Salesforce, Box, MS365/Teams, Office Suite, MailChimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, GSuite.
- Familiarity with ChinaSource and its publications is an asset
