Out and about with ChinaSource

In addition to our online publications that provide information about the church in China, ChinaSource team members also engage with the Christian community through attending and/or speaking at various events. We’d like to highlight a few of the recent events we had the privilege of being a part of.

In February, ChinaSource president Brent Fulton joined a conference of China workers in Thailand, giving them updates on church developments in China, as well as helping them develop plans and initiatives for the future.

In March, Brent was back in Thailand speaking to a gathering of leaders of international humanitarian and advocacy organizations on the implications of President Xi’s “new normal” for religious policy in China.

Last week Brent was a featured speaker at a day-long symposium at Gordon College, titled Keeping Faith Alive in China and Brazil.

In January, senior associate Joann Pittman conducted a two-day orientation at Taylor University in Indiana for a group of 20 China-bound honors students.

In February Joann spent four days in Bangkok with a small group of China workers, looking at the context of China and helping them reassess their strategies and goals.

Last week, Joann attended The Gospel Coalition National Conference on behalf of ChinaSource. She staffed a booth in the exhibition hall, which allowed her to have great conversations with people about the work we are doing. Many expressed gratitude for our work, and some even expressed interest in contributing to the ChinaSource Blog. Watch for some new names soon!

In addition, Joann hosted a China/East Asia focus table at a global missions forum on Monday night. A couple dozen people attended, sharing a bit about the work God is doing in and through their ministries.

Thank you for your continued interest in and support of the work of ChinaSource.

For prayer:

  • Pray for more opportunities to serve the China ministry community through the types of opportunities mentioned in this letter.
  • Pray for us as we recruit more contributing writers for our publications. There’s a wealth of knowledge and insight out there and we would like to help disseminate it.
  • Pray for the ChinaSource team as we meet for two days in Des Moines, Iowa this week. We live in three cities on two continents and we value our once-yearly opportunity to sit down together face to face.
